You sound like you are preching communism. Communism would solve your problems but would create a lot more poor.

    • Winking Doll

There’s a difference between communism and socialism. There’s a difference between being fair and being equitable. If you don’t know the differences between such concepts, please google online to do your homework before commenting with meaningless troll messages.

      • choofrfreoer

“Fair” and “equitable” are synonyms. I believe you meant “equality” and “equity”.

And the only difference between “communism” and “socialism” is that a “socialist” is a communist who has accepted democracy.

      • duh

Ugly doll, this is equally as bad. Then we are becoming welfare state. Go and google, there are many people choosing not to work and milking the system. Putting a strain on those who work and pay high taxes. Do you yourself wants to pay more than 40% taxes to support these people? As long as everyone has hands and legs, they should try harder if they want to make it in life. That of course would include myself. If i want to make more money, then i have to work harder and longer hours if I am unable to work smarter or am limited by my own intelligence. I havr to understand this is life and i cannot expect anyone to take care of me if i still have hands and legs. Humans have to live with more dignity than to ask for handouts after handouts.

Now our system is NS for Singaporeans, Jobs for foreigners.
You created the problem, solve it!
Don’t blame people for not working when there are few good jobs available for Singaporeans.
So many Singaporean taxi drivers, insurance agents, part time cleaners, tutors etc
      WHY?
If the whites cannot create jobs for Singaporeans, then how do the unemployed survive without an income.

Milking the system? Yah, there are many people doing that but certainly it is not those that cannot find a job.
Now you know why we are rank 5th in Crony Capitalism!

      • Ted

        @ace
So r u a part time cleaner or a taxi driver or insurance agent?
Or r u not “surviving” soon?
So jialat and u still stay here, for what?

  5. May Chen

Impressive! I like the way you speak. Very powerful. I don’t think Lee Hsien Loong will be able to debate you in public. With that kind of speech, you have earned yourself a place in the parliament. I have no doubt, even if your application for NMP is rejected by PAP, you will be ushered into the parliament, whichever SMC or GRC you contest, you will have the ability to win seats, win support. Those robotic PAP MPs are not your match. Even LKY pales in comparison to you, sir! All the best, and thank you for fighting for us and our hard earn CPF. We truly deserve better.

    • choofrfreoer

LHL wouldn’t be able to debate with Roy Ngerng, no doubt about it. But that’s because Roy Ngerng won’t understand even half of what LHL says when LHL goes into political and economic jargon, much of which is required. How would an “ordinary Singaporean” be expected to speak in jargon?

      • Ted

        Dun worry.
Roy dun understand. He can look at leong sh.
If both dun understand, they can google.

      • May Chen

I bet LHL don’t even know what is a minimum sum. Ha! The money in his bank is so much that he do not even need a CPF account. So, whatever Roy is saying here, LHL confirm don’t even have a clue. That’s why he can only sue and sue so that his lack of knowledge will be covered up. Maybe he everyday he corn, jargon and baygon, the joke is on him. See he always put his foot inside his mouth and make a fool out of himself on the world stage by spewing rubbish. No wonder he has been avoiding any interviews from foreign reporters, because he can only read from a prepared script. Without his aides writing for him, he will screw up most of the times and someone like shammugam will have to clear up his mess. Poo pooh..

      • Ted

        @may
U r the one who doesn’t know what cpf, minimum sum r all about.
U talking abt him not giving foreign interviews shows ur ignorance and stupidity.
R u not ashamed for being so shallow?

    • lauf

This is a joke. I see Roy speech boring with purportedly spurt of hot air trying to stir emotions. Far from convincing. Equally if not worst than than a PAP spokesmen.

      • lauf

If we want first world system, we all better buck up to be able to talk comparable with people in the first world.. since we are talking about freedom we are often refer to the American. See how they debate. We are far from it. We should instead first look at the mirror at ourselves. Our education system seriously needs to relook.

      • Greg

In the USA debating is a skill. In highschool and college there are classes on it. Clubs so you can compete in debate and z lot of different stiles. I competed in UN style debate.

Lauf. Your politicians and people will need to learn as a county to talk and no be offended by those you disagree with.

Please learn from America, and learn from our mistakes. Something is needed here, but for it to last it needs to be uniquely Singaporean.

This I hope is the start of that process.

      • David

It stopped being a intellectual disagreement when Roy made a baseless insinuation about LHL. People who engaged in intellectual debates do not resort to baseless insinuation.

Furthermore, what debate? Roy have only responded to people who agree with him. People who post valid criticism are either ignored or accused of being a PAP IB. How is that different from what he accused PAP of doing?

      • Ted

        Guys,
        I dun get it.
Why do u want to talk to an American dude?
Our history and future does not involve this American dude.

      • May Chen

I see Roy so full of passion. On the other hand, YPAP like dead zombies.. Haha.. servant leadership. What a joke! These PAP jokers cannot even call a spade a spade. A political film is a political film. Yet, they screen it without passing MDA clearance. This is open double standard. One rule for PAP and another rule for the rest of us. Two legs good, four legs better. Some animals are indeed more equal than others, especially the PA pigs.

      • David

How do we really know he is an American? There is an equal chance he could be a Singaporean trolling, just like that Ding Hua who claims to be a “PRC” who immigrated to Singapore and just so happens to fulfil the stereotype we have of PRC in Singapore.

      • Ding hua

Hi David, Your accusation on me is totally baseless like how you accuse Roy of accusing others.

  6. David

Oh yeah I fully agree, LHL will not be able to debate with Roy since LHL could not even talk for 40 minutes during the National Day Rally 2013 speech which included Mandarin and Malay.

  7. uncle lim

Very impressive! Sad to say that, none of our so highly paid Ministers, MPs, PMs and Presidents can speaks like you!

    • Ted

      @uncle lim
All salesman know how to talk wat… Once they hook u, they won’t let go until they suck u dry…
He healthcare work? Maybe selling healthcare products Loh… Still salesman

  8. bloodytruth

i think end of the day is what you do matter, who can talk better never solve any practical problem

    • lauf

Isnt this is politics? Whoever can talk wins. You focus on some issues that affects people most and without needing to look into other considerations… convince and sway. You talk to win first, then you try to do based on your promise.. and crossing your fingers this will resolve the issue and other issues will not pop up due to your changes..

      • bloodytruth

“crossing your fingers ” why dont get god to be the PM.. talk is cheap & may carry you for a period of time but without real abilities any1 know that wouldnt last..

  9. Greg

Standard disclaimer, I’m from the USA, I’m have not donated to this cause as I feel this is a job for the people of Singapore to effect, not an outsider like me. I’ve been learning so much about your culture and I see a lot more of my own through the lenses of what you are doing.

I’ve watched the speach and the coverage of it, and more so the crouds. I’ve been to a lot of protests in the USA and something struck me as strange. Then it hit me. You put your protest signs on sticks. The police stopped letting us do that decades ago as they were being used as weapons. We still have banners, and two people can hold an even bigger banner without a stick, so I dont feel this has effected our free speach. (Mind you stickless printed banners can make a quick tent if rain comes suddenly, so the have their uses). I know this is banality at its best, but it was striking to me that there is still enough trust in singapire so you can still carry a stick to a protest without getting stopped. Good for you.

  10. PAP Chicken Joke

Why did the chicken cross the road?

    ROY NGERNG
The chicken wanted confirmation that her eggs are safe and has not been sucked dry by the PIGS..

  12. Ted

    Roy
I’m impressed. U speak like a true artiste.
So how? Interested to tell the ppl that they can come to u for handouts once they finish their cpf, if things go ur way?
As long as the rest of Singapore is not paying for ur mistakes. Frankly, I dun really care if ppl want to withdraw their money or not….

  13. J.C

This Roy Ngerng obviously is so in love with his own voice….. Now that he thinks he is a famous celebrity, he thinks he can be excused for just making noise and pointing fingers at quiet hardworking public servants who are trying to support and manage a small vulnerable country without any resources. This Roy Ngerng is talented at raising eyebrows without providing any constructive solutions, because that is his job- being a complainer, not a solution provider. If someone asked him a question on regional politics and specific questions on the global economy and its current and long term effects on Singapore’s GDP, he’d probably whine and say such important relevant questions were politically motivated to make him look stupid. Alas, this Mr. Ngerng, who speaks like a angry tiger sure enjoys playing the weak little kitten it suits his convenience.
